5 Reasons to Attend VISIONS Summit: NYC
May 7, 2025
The London Brief is a series from Future Commerce covering commerce and culture
of the United Kingdom’s capitol city.

New York City isn’t just a big city. It’s a cultural epicenter that has had a profound impact on art, music, fashion, theater, and so much more.

In 2024 alone, nearly 65 million people from all around the world visited the island of Manhattan—the second-highest figure in the city’s history and a 3.5% increase from 2023. But it isn’t just a critical hub for culture; it’s also central to commerce. That is why NYC is the perfect home for the East Coast installment of VISIONS Summit, a day-long event designed to enrich, inspire, and activate new ideas.

The VISIONS Summit: For the Builders of Worlds

Commerce shapes how we live, how we act, and even what we believe. It shapes the worlds we inhabit. Every interaction we have with a brand or product influences our identity and our culture. It truly is a vehicle for worldbuilding. Which makes us worldbuilders.

During VISIONS Summit on June 10, we’ll explore how we can build ecosystems of meaning, myth, and belonging. Not sure whether to make the trip to NYC and join us? Here are 5 reasons why you should:

1. THE CITY

It bears repeating: New York City is one of the best in the world. And because VISIONS Summit is one day, you can build more time into your trip to explore and enjoy the city that never sleeps. Get tickets to a show, sit and people watch in a restaurant, or mosey through the countless shops in different neighborhoods.

2. THE VENUE

There’s no shortage of event spaces in New York City, but we wanted to host VISIONS Summit in a space that truly reflected our mission and vision. There is truly no better space than the Museum of Modern Art because it is the home of so many legendary works and world-shaping ideas.

The Roy and Niuta Titus Theater, which is nestled in the MoMA, has only 200 seats, offering a private, comfortable, and intimate space for attendees to gather.

3. THE PARTY

At the conclusion of the program, all attendees are welcome to network, meet key speakers, and chat about some of their major takeaways during an intimate afterparty. What’s better than good conversation over good food and good drinks during the summer in the city? Nothing, in our humble opinion.

4. THE PEOPLE

VISIONS Summit is known for bringing together an incredible cross-section of brand strategists, retail executives, tech leaders, and thought leaders in art, science, and philosophy.

At this year’s event, we will explore how identity, culture, technology, and commerce weave together to build worlds. That is why our speaker roster spans from renowned YouTube creators like Andrew Huang to executives from Walmart and Spatial.

This year’s agenda expands even further into the meaning of worldbuilding by featuring Luca Del Deo, a meditation researcher and educator specializing in the cognitive and phenomenological aspects of meditative practices in America. Luca will share insights on practices like tulpamancy, where individuals can create and interact with imagined companions, and how they can reshape perception and ontology.

Luca’s session is the perfect set-up for Katherine Dee’s, which further explores who we build our own personal worlds and realities using a powerful combination of myth, psychology, and technology.

5. THE IDEAS

Worldbuilding encompasses the culture, beliefs, mindset, and even the physical characteristics of real and imaginary spaces. It is a topic rich with possibility, and can inspire us to think more critically about how we create meaning for ourselves, our brands, and our customers. It can encompass myth-making, game design, animism, and even mindfulness practices like tulpamancy.

When we open our own minds to these new ideas and concepts, we will see greater creative possibilities for the worlds we build. But there are only a few more weeks to get your ticket for what’s bound to be a meaningful day of learning and connecting, so grab one while you still can.
